Accounts Assistant | Ilford | Full Time - 9am to 5.30pm – Monday - Friday| Office Based| Up to £30,000 per year for the right candidate

Due to expansion, our client is looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team. Based in Ilford, Essex, this accounting firm works closely with a diverse range of business and personal clients. The services they offer include:

• Accounts Preparation
• Corporation Tax
• VAT
• Audit
• Independent Examination
• Charity Accounts
• Payroll
• Bookkeeping

Are you the right person for the job?

• Graduate or ACCA student
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
• Team player
• Good attention to detail
• Highly organised and able to work on your own initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• Can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and stay late if needed

What will your role look like?

• Be courteous to clients at all times
• Take instructions from Senior Accountants, Executives and directors in managing client portfolios
• Agree on a time budget with seniors for the tasks given
• Carry out work assigned in a cost-efficient manner
• Inform senior staff of any issues arising from assignments
• Be aware of the fee budget for each assignment and undertake the tasks effectively
• Learn new skills and attend courses as agreed with the employer to maintain continuous professional development
• To ensure all work is completed within set deadlines
• Communicate with seniors if there are issues with the information provided by the client
• Keep daily diaries of work undertaken and prepare timesheets weekly, and submit them every Monday to senior staff
• Maintain a tidy and clean desk and office environment, adhering to company standards
• Work on a variety of software
• Ensure strict confidentiality of clients’ data
• Where required, answer the telephone
• Meet and greet clients
• Learn about new software
• Meet HMRC and other statutory deadlines
• File signed accounts/CS01, etc at Co Hse and HMRC
• Handle ad-hoc assignments, including covering for team members as required
