Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

Newark and Sherwood District are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Public Health Practitioner, (School Nurse) to join our Integrated Healthy Families Team within the Locality. Care will be delivered in line with the National and Local guidelines and public health priorities.
You will work as part of a team to deliver universal and targeted health services to the 5-19 year population and will be responsible for the day to day management of this cohort of children across the District of Newark and Sherwood and to aid this you will be managing and supporting a skill mix team.
You will be expected to develop excellent partnership working relationships in order to provide seamless services to Children, Young people and their families. This is a dynamic role which will provide leadership and expertise across Universal Children’s Services within the 5-19 age group, being a expert resource to all staff including Health Visiting as appropriate .
You will support the team to embed and manage organisational changes.
This post requires a knowledgeable practitioner with excellent communication skills and a desire to develop their leadership and management skills. You must possess the Specialist Practitioner Degree (School Nursing)
The base for this post will be decided on successful appointment.

The role involves delivering the public health agenda for 0-19 children and families. Delivering the Healthy Child Programme to a defined population and a strong element of leadership to the skill mix within the 0-19 Healthy Family Team . This is a community post which will require a considerable amount of driving between venues.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay levelrequiredfor a Skilled worker visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salaryrequiredfor sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
