As a Clinical Security Liaison Nurse you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve improve patient care and health outcomes through the assurance of a safe and therapeutic environment. In addition to general (operational) security duties, specialist security advice and training will be provided. This role will be a direct link between all areas of the hospital, both clinical and non-clinical to influence physical, procedural, and relational security into embedded practices.
The post holder will support the intelligence team and control center personnel to provide a fully integrated security department, fulfilling all its roles and responsibilities whilst remaining compliant with the Trust and local Policies and Procedures.
The role will actively support the senior security management team to ensure and evidence compliance across a range of criteria to include the High Security Psychiatric Directions (2019).
Provide security advice and liaison to Clinical Directorates and the wider hospital, including immediate
response to emergency situations.
Provide quality training to all grades of staff and disciplines across a range of areas of expertise.
Provide expert advice on a Hospital wide basis.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Be an integral participating member of the MDT.
Conduct audit and project work and transcend this to improvement in services.

Essential
Professional qualification RMN, RNLD and significant post registration development
Maintain current registration with the NMC and adheres to the NMC Code and demonstrates CPD within their specialism
Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery
Relevant experience in clear clinical expertise in achieving quality care and positive patient experience
Experience of teaching and willingness to complete a Teaching Qualification if not already attained
Experienced team worker and ability to work within their own autonomy, effectively working in a secure environment and working within multi professional services
Thorough knowledge of National Healthcare agenda, legislation, and local agendas
Good understanding and application of least restrictive practices
In depth understanding and working knowledge of clinical governance
Excellent patient focused assessment skills
Expertise underpinning theory acquired through nursing qualification and by accredited training and experience with ability to provide skills, knowledge, and experience to nursing and security teams
Ability to manage under intense pressure when required
Research, analytical, investigatory, and reporting skills
Desirable
Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration
Experience within a Forensic Setting
Possess a working knowledge of The High Security Psychiatric Services (Arrangement for safety and security) Directions 2019.
Understanding of the Clinical Security Framework (CSF)
Detailed knowledge of day-to-day operational systems, policies, procedures, and infrastructure
Awareness of emergency planning/incident command systems
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
