Location: Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service GMFRS Headquarters, 146 Bolton Road, Swinton, M27 8US (with a hybrid approach to working location)

Your role:
Working flexibly across multiple sites to assist the Payroll & Rewards Manager with the seamless delivery of a pay, pension and reward service to the GMCA and its partners, while ensuring statutory compliance.
To be able to effectively manage own workload for the day to day operational work of the Payroll & Pension service, ensuring that it is delivered efficiently and effectively to meet employer obligations.
You will be encouraged to develop the service, continually improve and implement change in your area of responsibility.
You will have working knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation and public sector payroll and pension operations.
Having exceptional communication skills is essential for this role.
About you:
This role will be best suited to a candidate who has a strong payroll knowledge and experience with LGPS or FF pension schemes.
You will have the skills, experience and passion required to deliver a people centred, customer focused experience while developing processes and delivering the highest quality Payroll, Pension and Reward service.
You will be self-motivated, have excellent organisational skills and be able to inspire, lead and develop others.
Having the drive and skill to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders is a key to this role with the ability to identify areas to improve and develop, taking advantage of automation and digital solutions available at your fingertips.
