An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Specialist Systems (BSS) Team who provide ICT Application support to Adults Social Care (ASC) and to Children & Young People’s Services (CYPS) known together as Adult’s and Children’s Family Services (ACFS). The post is for a fixed term of 6 months initially.
This is an important role in the delivery of a responsive and strategically driven Finance and Digital transformation of service to ACFS business areas. Key to this, is to ensure the service effectively responds to the challenges, problems and opportunities encountered by the Adults and Children’s Family Service areas’ independent and joint change and improvement programmes, linking closely to the Council’s Making Technology Work Corporate Programme.
The postholder will support the delivery of major projects to finance, education and social care systems, and also ensure key Digital solutions are maintained for a range of application products for the business areas including Liquidlogic LAS, LCS & EHM, ContrOCC, Synergy Education and Core+ systems, and incorporating corporate solutions. You will work alongside other Senior ICT Officers to provide support and assistance to ICT Officers with resolving technical support calls and in delivering new solutions and system enhancements via Roadmap upgrades and Implementation Projects.
We are looking to appoint a creative and self-motivated individual who has excellent ICT and communication skills. The role requires a thorough working knowledge and experience of working with either Liquidlogic LAS or LCS/EHM, ContrOCC Adults, or of Synergy Education and Core+ suite, and a good understanding of other systems which they may have integration with. You will have the skills to work well with colleagues at all levels and be able to respond to complex queries using technology solutions in response to business problems. In addition, you will have a good awareness of the Council’s current and future ICT specialist application portfolio for ACFS.
Specifically, the successful candidates will:

Work with Senior Business Support colleagues in understanding user issues and the needs of Adults and Childrens Family Services
Demonstrate a good understanding of service desk function and how they support Social Care or Education Systems
Have the ability to interrogate systems as required, ensure business continuity through system availability and configuration
Support the business areas by carrying out any necessary tasks and functions on business critical application systems
Provide adequate ICT application system controls to ensure Data Protection, access for Freedom of Information requests, Security & User permissions etc.
Liaise with 3rd party supplier support, and with partner agencies for technical issues and resolution
Provide support, guidance, and occasional training in provision of a specialist application products to internal and external users of Social Care and Education systems as part of the local Service Level Agreement
