Specialised Commissioned services support people with a range of rare and complex conditions. They often involve treatments provided to patients with rare cancers, genetic disorders or complex medical or surgical conditions at a smaller number of providers. They deliver cutting-edge care and are a catalyst for innovation, supporting pioneering clinical practice in the NHS.
This is a strategic and operational post open to GPhC registered pharmacists to provide clinical leadership on medicines within specialised commissioning services commissioned in London. They will particularly support implementation of NICE Technology Appraisals and ensure our population has access to the best treatments - with safe and effective medication. The role involves working at a patient, Trust, ICB, regional and national level within the varied specialised commissioning portfolio.
As Specialised Commissioning Deputy Chief Pharmacist for London, the post holder will lead a dynamic pharmacy team in delivering an effective service supporting the wider Specialised Commissioning team in London to improve the quality, performance and productivity of medicines use in acute and mental health services across the specialised commissioning contract portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across London and England, engaging with multiple partners and stakeholders.
