Crynodeb
This exciting role offers a chance to develop Explosive Safety Management skills together with networking opportunities across HMNB Clyde government and industry organisations. It will involve close collaboration with a wide range of organisations across the Explosives community, the Royal Navy and Defence. Full ‘on the job’ and internal/external training will be given for this role.
The key responsibilities for the role are:
Act as the Faslane Explosive Safety Representative on behalf of Naval Base Commander Clyde and in accordance with Explosive Safety Regulation.
Produce and upkeep Faslane Explosive Safety Orders.
Authorise Explosive movements at Faslane through the Faslane Ammunitioning Approval Signal (FAAS) process.
Carry out inspections of Explosive licenced facilities and storage areas in accordance with Explosive Regulation.
Liaison with Clyde Estates and other MOD/Industry departments on projects for new build and change of use at Faslane, ensuring Explosive Regulation is being met.
Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of Explosive Safety within the HMNB Clyde Site Safety Justification and be the point of contact for Explosive Events.
Provide Explosive Safety Awareness training to HMNB Clyde (Faslane and Coulport) personnel, including Contractors.
Provide advice for the Warships In Harbour Site Safety Case, to include explosive blast prediction advice and berthing co-ordination within Faslane Port.
Represent Explosive Safety at meetings/activities as required.
