Summary

As Assistant Head People and Organisational Development (AH POD) you will have the opportunity to work in a thriving operational environment that is benefiting from significant investment to transform the naval base today and ensure it is ready to accept into service two new classes of submarines and future military capabilities.

You will be responsible to Deputy Head Business and HR and Naval Base Commander Clyde (NBC (C)) for the provision of a professional HR advice service including:

Providing expert HR advice and guidance to senior leaders and managers, in collaboration with central MOD HR business partners, ensuring solutions are pragmatic, legally compliant and aligned with both civil service and MOD policies and HR frameworks
Building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Civil Servants, military colleagues, trade unions and HR partners.
Developing and overseeing the implementation of initiatives to improve workforce capability and employee experience.
Management and development of the POD team, fostering a high performing inclusive culture.
Analysis of HR and other people data and workforce metrics to inform decision making and measure the impact of people interventions and contribute to organisational reporting.
As the Lead for Authorised Condition 10 (Training) and Chair of the Nuclear Training Qualification Sub Committee, assuring NBC as the Site Authorisee that adequate arrangements are in place to ensure that the people resources have the necessary training and competences to support Safe, Secure and Efficient operation in support of current and future Naval Base outputs.
Working closely with the Strategic Workforce Planning team (who support longer term succession planning) to enable the attraction and up-skilling of the current and future workforce to deliver Clyde outputs.
