Crynodeb
Caritas Diocese of Salford is the principal social action agency of the Catholic Diocese. Our mission is to put Love Into Action.
We help those across Greater Manchester and Lancashire experiencing poverty, disadvantage and discrimination to transform their lives with dignity. We provide a practical response to those in crisis, suffering hardship or who are at risk. We rebuild lives for the long-term, enabling people to live in a safe, healthy and secure environment. We call for a better, more just world, where the voices of the poor are heard and acted upon and positively influence the systems, decisions and resources that affect those in need.
About the job
The Lalley Centre is a welcoming space, community pantry and allotment in North Manchester. We are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer (Social Action) to ensure the smooth-running of all Caritas’ Social Action projects.
As the Project Support Officer (Social Action) you will build positive relationships with people using the services and use opportunities to signpost to services which can support. You will also deliver excellent customer service to donors, supporters, people using the services, volunteers and those with general enquiries about all projects via email, telephone, and in person.
Additionally, you will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Social Action Team and Head of Social Action as well as completing finance procedures and completing health and safety checking.
You will have excellent IT and admin skills including Microsoft 365. The ability to work independently, proactively and use own initiative and refer matters to a higher level for decision making is essential.
The role will require availability to work on Wednesdays and Fridays at the Caritas Lalley Centre between 9:30am to 14:30pm and at least one evening per week at Caritas Cornerstone until 18:30pm.
If this sounds like the next step you are looking for and you would like to work in a service passionate about supporting people to find new homes and rebuild their lives, then we would love to hear from you!
Early applications are strongly encouraged as all applications will be reviewed as soon as they are received.
