Your role:
Are you looking for a unique role to directly influence the data and information ecosystem across Greater Manchester? The GMCA and TfGM Information and Data Governance shared service is looking for a Partnership Lead to drive collaboration, influence cross-organisational working and build lasting networks in support of the Greater Manchester Information Strategy.
The vision of the strategy is to:
“Create a better information ecosystem that realises the full potential of information; managing, sharing, and using information responsibility to help to tackle our most serious challenges and supports Greater Manchester's wider ambitions.”
As the Partnership Lead, you will play a key role in delivering the aims of the strategy, taking ownership for the projects and initiatives requiring effective partnership working.
If you are a skilled, confident person with the ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships this role will enable you to make a difference to public service delivery. You will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders both internally within the GMCA and TfGM, across Greater Manchester and the wider national eco-system.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is confident, dynamic and has well developed communication skills. You will be working with a range of partners of varying seniority levels and the ability to strategically tailor your approach is key. You will have a strong track record in managing, maintaining and maximising positive working relationships.
At times the role will allow you to work alone, identifying and generating opportunities. At other times you will work within teams, projects and groups. It is vital you are comfortable working flexibly and you have the skills to navigate different ways of working.
If you are enthusiastic, passionate about public service delivery and have an interest in information and data, this is a role in which you can deliver significant impact.
About us:
As an employer, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is made up of a number of key Greater Manchester strategic functions and service providers including; Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS); Waste and Resources; Environment; Work and Skills; Research; Public Sector Reform; Police, Crime and Criminal Justice; Homelessness; the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub and the Commissioning Hub.

Hybrid working
This role is part of GMCA’s hybrid working scheme. As part of our commitment to ‘Build Back Fairer’ in Greater Manchester following the Covid-19 pandemic, we have evolved our management methods by trusting and empowering staff to deliver their work in the best way that suits the business and their individual needs, and supports health and wellbeing. Our hybrid working policy sets out a flexible approach, combining attendance at our [Manchester city centre office / Fire and Rescue service HQ in Swinton / other location] with remote working, typically from home; the location of work is primarily dictated by the needs of the business: ‘Do what is right for you and the business on that day’. If appointed to the role you will work with your manager to agree and regularly review the best working pattern for you, your team and your work.
