Hours: Monday to Friday 8.45am – 3.45pm (term time only)

Start date: September 2025 or as soon as possible for the right candidate

Core Education are proud to be working with a secondary Send school based in the Manchester area. The Governors of our partnering school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient, dedicated teacher to join our school in September 2025, or as soon as possible.

The role of Lead Teacher is unique. You will support the delivery of our ambitious curriculum at one of our partnering schools’ Learning Centres, in partnership with the Centre’s Student Services Manager.

You will:

· Model high quality first teaching of at least one key subject and one other subject to students at your Learning Centre

· Provide pastoral support to students at your Centre

· Quality assured delivery of the whole curriculum across your Centre, using a variety of monitoring and evaluation activities throughout the year

· Work alongside the SEND department to identify barriers to students’ learning and to plan appropriate interventions to ensure that all your students achieve to their fullest potential

Our partnering school offers ‘New Beginnings and Positive Futures’ to all young people who have been Permanently Excluded from their mainstream schools. Many are vulnerable and may have complex learning, behavioural or emotional needs. They work closely with parents and a wide variety of partner agencies and stakeholders to advocate for our students and to ensure the best possible outcomes for each one of them.

They are one school, currently across different sites in the city. They also work in partnership with two College sites. Many of their teachers deliver lessons at several of their Centres. All their teachers may be asked to teach at any site, at the discretion of the Head Teacher.

This is an exciting time to join the Secondary send school. Under the direction of their Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in driving forward our agenda for excellence.

The appointed candidate will have:

· Qualified Teacher status

· Able to teach more than their one specialist subject.

· The vision to help drive the school forward and a proven track record of managing change

· Successful experience of delivering GCSE/Functional Skills Level 2

· An understanding of the barriers to learning faced by children with SEMH and their families, and how to support children in their emotional well-being

· Expert knowledge of the National Curriculum

· The ability to develop and implement policies and practices which reflect the school’s commitment to high achievement, effective teaching and learning

· Experience of planning and leading teaching and learning

· A high level of interpersonal skills

· The ability to plan, organise and prioritise their own workload

· The ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils needs

· Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children

· A commitment to excellence for all pupils

They will offer you:

· An opportunity to play a major role in the development of a unique and ambitious school

· A dedicated, supportive staff team

· Excellent relationships with Local Schools and the LA

· A supportive Governing Body and Leadership Team
