We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Energy Projects & Programmes Officer (PO2) to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing various energy-related projects that contribute to sustainable development goals and enhance community resilience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating efforts to develop, implement, and monitor energy initiatives that promote efficiency, sustainability, and innovation within the energy sector. You will work closely with stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community groups, to identify needs and opportunities for improvement in energy systems. A key aspect of this role is to ensure that projects align with broader organizational strategies and policies while effectively managing budgets and timelines. The Energy Projects & Programmes Officer will also facilitate training and capacity-building activities to empower local communities and stakeholders. Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of energy projects and programs.
Coordinate and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure project alignment and effective implementation.
Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and timelines to ensure adherence to financial and scheduling protocols.
Conduct research and analysis to inform project design and improve energy efficiency.
Prepare and present project reports and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Facilitate training and capacity-building workshops for community members and project partners.
Identify potential funding opportunities and assist in proposal development for energy-related initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Energy Studies, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, particularly in the energy sector.
Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency practices.
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership building.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Proficient in project management software and tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
