Job Overview
-The Motor Transport Maintenance Section (MTMS) Supervisor is responsible and accountable to the Airfield Technical Services Manager (ATMS) for the overall management and the safe, effective and efficient delivery of contracted maintenance, repair and inspection services of the military vehicles and specialist plant and equipment within the MTMS area of responsibilities.
-The MTMS Supervisor is to work collaboratively and provide technical support to the military Mandatory Equipment Inspector (MEI) Inspector by ensuring all vehicles; plant and equipment be prepared for inspection. Subsequent defects are to be rectified in a timely manner. Report immediately to the ATSM instances of non-serviceability of the mission critical fleet.
-Supervision and administration in everyday duties including but not limited to data management on JAMES, vehicle maintenance, servicing, repair, workshop housekeeping, tool, equipment control, fleet management.
-Perform diagnosis of faults and conduct repairs on all vehicles including specialist aircraft support equipment, in an efficient and timely manner as required.
-Ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance process as in accordance with the company order book and procedures laid down in military publications.
-Use online technical publications to support and maintain the fleet serviceability at all times including creating demands for spares and replacement parts from such documents and associated publications.
-Liaison with civilian suppliers, supply section to obtain quotes for spares not available through service sources.
-The role also includes the following secondary duties:
-Stand in for the Motor Transport Supervisor during periods of absence.
-Undertake driving duties in support of airfield operations
Main Duties
-Together with the ATSM, MT Supervisor and QSHE Team lead a Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental culture ensuring a robust and meaningful programme of safety awareness delivered consistently across the MTMS activities promoting a zero tolerance to unsafe behaviour. In particular, the implementation of the internal assurance regime, TBT, work place inspections, inductions and other QSHE related activities.
-Work with the QSHE Team to ensure the Mitie protocols are incorporated as applicable into MTMS activities.
-Ensure all the team wear the appropriate PPE and work in accordance with the company order book, risk assessments and method statements that are to be regularly reviewed.
-Ensuring that personnel are only employed on work appropriate to their training, qualification and experience. Working closely with the ATSM, identify training and resources necessary for them to perform their allotted tasks safely and efficiently.
-Manage, maintain and issues reports via the JAMES Fleet Management System meeting BFSAI requirements whilst keeping the ATSM informed of performance and related issues.
-Use specialist equipment, i.e. laptops, i.e. (MANcats), special tools, workshop tools.
-Carrying out, recording and reporting progress on scheduled maintenance, fault rectification, Modifications, SI and STI.
-Work will be carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations and vehicle servicing documentation.
-That all scheduled maintenance activities are conducted and completed within the prescribed servicing periodicity.
-That all personnel comply with Tool Control procedures.
-Maintenance of good husbandry within both workshop and office areas ensuring all waste especially hazardous are disposed of in accordance with waste management procedures.
-Support the ATSM in Line Manager duties such an annual staff appraisals.
-Responsible for the MTMS Service Account undertaking checks as required by the Supply Section.
-Maintain accurate Miscrit data providing weekly updates and reports to ATSM and MT Supervisor as required.
-Work with other air head section managers in particular MT OPS, GES and Supply to optimise delivery, support and the performance of the workforce by utilising personnel, material and facilities to maximise fulfilment of contractual obligations within budgetary provision.
-Maintain a good working relationship with BFSAI MEI inspectors supporting LMTC, MEI inspections, third-party audits and other related activity.
-Ensure all equipment and tooling is calibrated and maintained in a serviceable state.
-Identify and foster sound working relationships with MoD SME, Support agencies, key client and stakeholder personnel, understand their requirements and share the knowledge with other heads of departments.

Additional Information
Mitie will pay a competitive salary, monthly site allowance and bonus. Hours of work are 47.5 per week. The contract duration is 24 months with 80 days leave excluding weekends. There will be an entitlement to the Ascension Island Bank Holidays. Flights will be arranged to and from Ascension Island for agreed holiday periods. The position is unaccompanied, single accommodation on Travellers Hill, 3 meals at the Combined Mess, all corporate work wear and personal protective equipment included. Must be capable of obtaining security clearance, evisa from the Ascension Government, be declared medically and dentally fit to work on Ascension Island.
