Crynodeb
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious manager to join our team in the post of Service Manager for Assisted Conception Unit.
We are looking for someone dynamic and innovative, with excellent prioritisation and problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach. You’ll work closely with clinicians, nurses, AHPs, managers and admin & clerical staff across the Women's Services directorate and Evelina London more widely.
It is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is looking to broaden their operational management skills and develop their leadership approach further. You will report to the Deputy General Manager for Women's Services and be accountable to the General Manager. The post will be based across both Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals.
Previous unsuccessful applicants need not apply.
You will be part of service leadership with head of service, matron, consultant embryology and quality manager, responsible for performance, financial management and line management. The post holder will lead on a range of initiatives to improve all aspects which contribute to care quality and patient experience.
The Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) is a mixed NHS and private specialist fertility centre, delivering approximately 1500 cycles of IVF care per year. We are the national centre for Pre Genetic Testing (PGT) services, deliver a range of fertility preservation services and are closely aligned with King’s College London in our research activities.
The ACU is a self-contained fertility hub with it's own outpatient clinic rooms, theatres, lab and ultrasound scanning facilities. This position is a great opportunity for someone with some experience of private patients and/or specialized commissioning wishing to deliver and develop an operational service. It will also offer exposure to those already in operational management, seeking to provide more breadth.
Your role will be to operationally manage the department, providing clear leadership and ensuring delivery against our performance goals. You will provide leadership and expert advice to your teams to help deliver high standards of care and a quality, patient-centred service with an ethos around continuous improvement. The post holder will need to have experience of operational service delivery and needs to be flexible and adaptable to the requirements of a non-elective service. Outstanding communication and organisational skills are essential.
This is a challenging operational role, but represents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to manage our high activity service areas. The role represents an ideal opportunity for the post holder to further their skills and progress their career in to a senior management role.
You will need a clear and thorough understanding of NHS challenges and opportunities, and their particular relevance in these service areas. Additionally, you will have the capacity to manage a large combined service budget effectively, be confident in delivering operational initiatives to achieve patient access targets (RTT), and competent in complex data handling and IT skills. You will benefit from dedicated support from the directorate senior management team in delivering your objectives.
