Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Assistant Service Manager within Radiology Department, to support the service delivery of Radiology Services.

This is the perfect post for an experienced team leader, who is looking to manage a busy department and be responsible for multiple Radiology service areas.

The successful candidate must be proactive in their approach, with good problem solving abilities and flexible, can do approach to resolve issues within the outpatient areas. Similarly, this would be perfect for an applicant who already has significant ASM experience, and is looking for a new challenge.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a multi-professional team and be able to adapt to an evolving service in order to ensure the continuous delivery of high quality patient care.

Shortlisted candidates will participate in an assessment to further shortlist candidates for the interview stage.

This role will support the Service Manager to deliver operational targets, monitor performance, and directly line manage a team of administrators. The successful candidate will have excellent data and staff management along with analytical skills with experience in managing a busy outpatient referral bookings team.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Line Management
• PTL Validation
• Responding to PALS queries and patients concerns
• Team meetings, 1:1s, PDRs
• Data quality monitoring, analysis and performance reporting
• Participation in service improvement and development

The Successful applicant must be able to lead and motivate teams with a high degree of self-motivation, have an experience of people management and a keen attention to detail. The post holder must be IT literate and have the ability to navigate trust IT systems. The ideal candidate should have some understanding of National cancer waiting targets, experience in PTL validation is a must.

The individual should be adaptable, have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. The ability to multi task and use initiative in a busy environment is essential.

This role is to support the Service Manager in the delivery of a range of section services. This will involve delivering against targets in a range of service areas.

This post will assume the management of an outpatients department. These day-to-day services will be managed in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of a team or teams of staff including service delivery personnel, medical secretaries and other groups of staff. The post holder will need deliver to offer a high level of administrative support to the clinical team(s).
