An exciting opportunity has arisen in Bury Care Organisation (part of Northern Care Alliance) to work as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner – FCP, within Bury Primary Care Networks.

You will join a dynamic and innovative team of MSK FCPs working within primary care to support GP practices. The role will include seeing MSK patients, without prior contact with their GP, to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan. Depending on service distribution you will support Band 7 FCPs.

You will act as a point of MSK clinical expertise within the primary care setting supporting and working with General Practitioners (GPs), nurse practitioners and other medical professionals. Successful candidates will be able to communicate confidently and effectively across professions ensuring the seamless flow of patients across boundaries with the community, hospital Trust, social prescribers, pharmacy and other PCN related services.

You will support the FCP Clinical and Operational Leads in developing the FCP serviceworking collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver an effective and evidenced-based service.

Successful applicants will have a masters level qualification in advanced practice; advanced clinical practice skills; significant experience in the musculoskeletal specialty; and excellent leadership skills. Non-Medical Prescribing would be advantageous.

This is a part time post of 30 hours and flexible working opportunities are available.

Provide clinical expertise and make decisions about the best course of action for patient care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions).

Deliver high quality patient assessments and treatments, based on the best available evidence and current literature, supporting colleagues to do likewise.

Provide holistic care and support lifestyle changes to assist patients in the management of conditions to improve general population health.

Provide clinical supervision and undertake operational duties for the FCP service.

Form close working relationships with primary care colleagues through attending practice meetings, GP mentoring, delivering MDT training.

Deliver training with the aim of improving the quality of care for the local population.

Receive protected time for service development, in-service training and supervision, alongside self-directed study to ensure progression along your career pathway, aligned to the relevant MSK competency framework.
