The role

We have a great opportunity for a Data & Reporting Analyst to work in our HSQES Department.

Key accountabilities

You will be responsible for :

  • Undertake changes to the Monthly HSQES PowerBI Performance Report as directed by the Head of performance and Strategy and the Senior Data and reporting Analyst.
  • Administration of the ECO online system and data integrity checks on a regular basis to ensure that integrity of key reports, statistics and other dashboard information is maintained to avoid inaccuracies.
  • Provision of general support for the use of ECO Online including user accounts, technical support queries, training/guidance on functionality and close call reporting.
  • Collation and coordination of Network Rail data to support maintaining key performance metrics, balanced scorecard, other key results areas dashboards and reports and the close call reporting process.
  • Identify discrepancies with any ECO online data or key internal/external reporting areas to the Head of Performance and Strategy.
  • Consult with project teams and business leaders to understand dashboarding requirements, dashboard creation, implementation, and review.
  • Generate monthly reports for Managing Director and senior management team communicating status of targets and explaining trends both internally and externally in the rail industry.
  • Attend business leadership HSQES meetings to provide data analysis and proactive support and record any improvement ideas or data requests from the business.
  • Handle data inputs, feeds and reporting for various systems including ECO Online, Network Rail Balance Scorecard, BURM, SMIS, SHEP, Snapshot, Jaspersoft and RSSB close call information system.

Skills & experience

  • NVQ Level 3 Business Administration Level 3 or data analyst apprenticeship desirable
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent an advantage
  • Demonstrable intermediate to advanced experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience in collating and analysing data.
  • Experience in presenting results of analysis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or power Bi
  • Experience working in a similar role or of analysing data.
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Experience in the Rail or Construction Industry.
  • Strong mathematical and organisational skills.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
  • An ability to work quickly and accurately within tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Problem solver
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to work using own initiative with little supervision.
