A warm and friendly two-form entry Primary school based in Camden, NW1, needs a Behaviour Mentor/Special Needs teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD, Dyslexia and very challenging behaviour. The role will start in September 2024 and continue until the end of the next academic year (July 2025)
Job Description
Within this role, the successful behaviour mentor will build bonds with the students and support them throughout the academic day to help encourage focus and positive behaviour.
As a behaviour mentor within this school, you will implement strategies and interventions to address behavioural issues, promote positive social and emotional development, and work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to create and implement individual behaviour plans. Alongside the staff, you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
The school are looking for a SEN teaching assistant with the ability to motivate and encourage all those around them. The ideal special needs teaching assist will have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
To be considered for this role you will need:
· Experience with SEMH
· Behaviour Management skills
· Dedicated and passionate about education
