We require an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team based at St Charles Hospital site at Ladbroke Grove. You will help to deliver a service to CNWL sites.
Performing this role will require a good level of communication, organisation time management and interpersonal skills and preferably some knowledge and experience of mental health services.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
The Pharmacy Assistant (ATO) will be responsible for assembling orders from wards, departments, clinics and health centres, under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacy Assistant (SATO). To dispense under the direct supervision of the Dispensary Manager or Deputy any designated prescriptions.
Central and North West London Foundation NHS Trust is a large trust in central London covering a huge area from Hillingdon to Westminster. St Charles Hospital is part of this Trust.
The patients we care for may have a mental illness, elderly, needing rehabilitation or long term care. We provide support to staff working in our busy community care services.
Located near Ladbroke Grove, the hospital is a community of friendly multi-professional staff and patients. After work central London is close at hand and locally Notting hill has great markets and restaurants.

Key Responsibilities Distribution:
• To participate in the top-up system including visiting wards and ensuring that a supply is made against an agreed stock list via the Omnicell system.
• Assemble & distribute stock items to wards, departments, clinics and health centres To ensure that all medicines are dispensed in accordance with the relevant legislation, local standard operating procedures, and local Medicines Policy.
• To good receive medicines into the dept in the absence of the storekeeper.
• To assist the storekeeper in putting away goods received into the department.
• To ensure good stock rotation and carry out monthly checks of expiry dates of all goods. To
notify the Purchasing Manager of slow moving lines, and excess stocks.
• To order BOC Medical Gases in absence of storekeeper.
• Accurately dispense and issue prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or accredited checking technician.
• To comply with COSHH and manual handling regulations
• To participate in Weekend, late and Bank Holiday rotas at St Charles’ hospital.
• Administrative responsibilities
• Filing away all prescriptions and maintain archiving
• Distribute post
• General housekeeping duties
• Dispose of medical waste in accordance to Waste Management Policy
