Are you an Assistant Psychologist interested in Staff Psychology Support? We are looking for someone to work in our ground-breaking Staff Psychology Service (SPS) that supports NHS staff with the emotional impact of work by working systemically across all levels of Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The service sits within a supportive Clinical Health Psychology service.

The SPS focuses on building team resilience, through reflective groups, consultation, training and advice thus minimising the chance of psychological harm when teams are working under pressure.

As part of our commitment to address inequalities in healthcare, we are particularly keen to hear from applicants with lived experience relevant to the diverse communities we work with, and from those with particular skills in understanding and promoting anti-discrimination associated with protected characteristics. The Trust has the following active Staff Networks: BAME Staff Network, Disabled Employees Network (DEN+), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Staff Network (LGBT+), Carers at Work Network, Lived Experience of Mental Health Issues Stigma Transformation (LEMHIST) Network and Women’s Network. The post-holder will be supported to access and contribute to the work of these networks as a member or ally.

If the date of the interview falls on a religious holiday then please make us aware so we can reschedule your interview.

This post is an established and vital part of the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust Staff Psychology Service. The Assistant Psychologist will assist the team with the running and development of this exciting service. Key responsibilities include assisting with service delivery, coordinating and screening referrals, collecting and analysing service data, and supporting audit and evaluation activities. The postholder will contribute to the development and delivery of psychoeducational workshops and reflective practice groups, and assist with scoping and service improvement projects.

This work will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist and there will be the opportunity to network with the group of Assistant Psychologists already working in Clinical Health Psychology in the Trust.

The role is based across both hospital sites, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (369 Fulham Road, SW10 9NH) and West Middlesex University Hospital (Twickenham Road, TW7 6AF). A free hospital shuttle bus connects these two sites. Team meetings are held on Wednesdays, and it is preferred that the postholder is available to attend in person.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage & support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients & service users when working on our healthcare settings.
