Summary
Calderdale’s Integrated Commissioning, Contracts and Quality Team are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity for an experienced individual to join them in achieving their vision of improving outcomes for children, young people, and adults in Calderdale.
As a Senior Commissioning Officer within the Integrated Commissioning Team you will be leading the commissioning and contract management of Children’s and Adults commissioned services. Working closely with other Commissioners, as well as Procurement and Quality Officers, to procure and oversee quality services, working to strict procurement timescales and legislation.
You will be working with key partners across Adults Social Care, Children’s Services, Public Health, Housing, and the Calderdale Cares Partnership Integrated Care Board (formerly CCG), as well as with providers and people who use services. The post holder will be responsible for line managing up to 2 Commissioning Officers and will manage their own commissioning projects, as well as providing supervision and project guidance to the Commissioning Officer/s.
As part of the Senior Commissioning Team you will take a leadership role in the management of change and service improvement. Utilising research, project management tools and methodologies for forecasting demand, supporting development of the market and procuring services on a quality and value for money basis that are designed to improve outcomes for vulnerable adults, children, young people and their families.
Applicants will have strong management skills, the ability to work in a politically sensitive environment and a commitment to improving outcomes. A degree level qualification or suitable relevant experience is essential.
Applicants will also have experience of working with partners and stakeholders, with a strong knowledge of either Adults or Children’s Social Care commissioning, social care markets, and relevant social care legislation.
