Crynodeb
This is a replacement post as the current postholder is moving to a new position and is located mainly in a busy drug and alcohol recovery partnership within a core medical team. You will also be part of a wider multidisciplinary team comprising CPNs, general nurses and recovery coordinators (from a range of backgrounds) and will provide clinical advice to all members of the team. The services work into community, in-patient and day patient settings but the post holder will work primarily within the day unit admitting patients, initiating opiate substitution therapy, overseeing alcohol detoxification and assessing patients with complex co-morbidity (physical and mental health). In addition, you will run medical clinics to review mental health, oversee opiate replacement therapy and manage relapse prevention medication. There will be scope to participate in training (medical students and trainees), research and audit. Although not mandatory, the postholder may carry a small clinical caseload if they wish.
