Are you a dedicated and experienced SENCO with a passion for transforming the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Dunbar Education is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and inclusive SEN school in Leicester. We are seeking a highly skilled SENCO who has a proven track record in improving SEN settings and a deep commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring high-quality support for all SEN students.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Co-ordinate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN support, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that promotes the well-being and development of all students.

Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience working with SEN students in an educational setting.
- Previous experience as a SENCO with a successful track record of improving SEN provision.
- Strong leadership and management skills to effectively co-ordinate SEN support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
- In-depth knowledge of current SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting SEN students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest developments in SEN education.

Desirable Attributes:
- Evidence of how you have significantly improved the SEN setting in a previous role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting students with SEN.
