applications are invited for a full-time Researcher Developer within the Research Department at The Glasgow School of Art.

The successful applicant will support the professional development of academic staff and postgraduate research students by developing and delivering a programme of training, guidance and mentoring to build their skills and capacity to undertake high-quality, impactful research and knowledge exchange.

As a member of GSA’s central research support team, they will lead on planning, coordinating and delivering a range of training events, information sessions, guidance materials, leadership support and other resources to support the development of research skills for doctoral students, early-career researchers and staff at all career stages, as appropriate to our specialist disciplines. They will also coordinate GSA’s annual research planning, mentoring and research leave schemes. In this way, they will contribute to a positive and supportive research environment and the sustainability and vitality GSA’s research culture.

You will have an in-depth understanding of the learning and skills needs of doctoral and academic researchers, and experience of successfully providing professional development services or equivalent. You will have good knowledge of relevant standards, benchmarks and approaches within the sector, and are likely to have personal experience of undertaking research and/or of working with academic researchers to support their professional development in higher education.
