The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Studio Lead to join our creative community. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting and shaping the day-to-day life of our studio environment while contributing to the wider vision of one of the UK’s most respected art schools.

As Studio Lead, you will be at the heart of a collaborative and energetic institution, known for its cultural significance and commitment to creative innovation. You will work closely with students, academic staff, and technical teams to foster a safe, inclusive, and productive studio culture.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building strong working relationships, approaching challenges through teamwork, and supporting group-based making activities. You will have the chance to contribute to the operational success of the studios while developing your own skills in leadership, management, and health & safety – an increasingly vital area in arts education.

Key qualities we’re looking for:
· A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
· A proactive approach to problem-solving in creative environments
· Interest or experience in arts-related making and health and safety practices
· Desire to grow leadership and managerial capabilities in a supportive institution

Whether you're looking to take the next step in your creative career or bring your studio experience into a new context, this is a unique chance to contribute meaningfully while developing professionally.

Join us at the Glasgow School of Art and become part of a team that values creativity, care, and community.

About You

We welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You might have:

• Equivalent qualifications to QCF level 6 or 7 in a relevant area
• Demonstrable track record with extensive relevant work experience.
• NEBOSH/IOSH qualification.
• ILM Level 4 - 5

You will require prior experience (3-5 years) of managing a team in a multi-disciplinary environment, preferably in an arts/education-related discipline. A current clean driving licence is also preferable.
