**Monday-Thursday - 8.15am 5.00pm, Friday 8.15am 14.15pm**



As Production planner you will be responsible for efficiently planning and coordinating production activities whilst ensuring optimal utilisation of resources, and on-time delivery. This is a business-critical role.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will provide timely and accurate information to assist in the control of materials; support the production plan by monitoring and reporting manufacturing schedules; ensure customer delivery dates are met on time and in full, highlighting shortfalls or issues as they arise, proactively keeping customer services informed.

**Requirements and skills**


* Wide ranging and proven experience leading production planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably within an engineering company.
* Understanding of planning a CNC machine shop environment, as well as niche processes.
* Thorough understanding of production planning principles, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
* Advanced knowledge of using production planning software, excel (advanced) and ERP systems.
* Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in meeting tight deadlines and managing changing priorities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Keen attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to unexpected changes in production requirements.
* Ability to handle ad-hoc challenges with a continuous improvement mindset.



**Responsibilities**


* Develop and maintain production schedules and prioritise workload based on customer requirements, production capacity and material availability.
* Co-ordinate with the Material Expeditor to ensure parts will be available to meet the production schedule and that any production changes are fed back to the Expeditor to allow them to delay deliveries to meet the business optimum stock targets.
* Co-ordinate with Customer Services so they can communicate promised delivery dates to customers.
* In the short to medium term maintain and develop existing tools used to produce production schedules, for prioritising workload based on customer requirements, production capacity and material availability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, manufacturing engineering, purchasing and quality assurance, to ensure the business has streamlined processes to meet business goals.
* Monitor daily production activities, analyse production data and identify areas for improvement in order to drive efficiency and productivity.
* Review and adjust production schedules (as necessary) to accommodate unforeseen events such as equipment breakdowns, material shortages or changing customer demands.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process bottlenecks, recommending, and implementing solutions and driving operational excellence.
* Document administration.
