Crynodeb

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Administrator to join the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology (CEBD) which is part of the Unit of Lifespan and Population Health within the School of Medicine. Led by Professors Kim Thomas and Hywel Williams, CEBD has an international reputation for independent research into the prevention and treatment of skin disease. You will join a dynamic and friendly team of approximately 20 staff and work with a range of clinical and non-clinical academics, researchers and other administrators. For further details visit www.nottingham.ac.uk/dermatology.

The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for research projects at CEBD. You will primarily be supporting the RAPID Eczema Trials programme; a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded applied research programme running multiple online randomised controlled trials. You will also spend some of your time providing administrative support for knowledge exchange and educational training activities and events. Key activities will include meeting organisation and associated activities, finance tracking, dealing with queries, maintenance of contact databases and websites and supporting the delivery of events.

Experience of working as part of a team in an office-based role, working accurately with finance or numerical data and a high level of IT skills are all essential, along with excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills. Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with experience of maintaining websites and using mass mailing software to administer contact mailing lists.

The role is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31st August 2027. This is a full-time post (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also invited from candidates wanting to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week). Please indicate on your application if you wish to be considered for this role on a part-time basis and state the hours you wish to work. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Carron Layfield email carron.layfield@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
