A Vacancy at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are looking for candidates for this new substantive post to replace a highly successful locum consultant role, which has been split between our busy paediatric ophthalmology service and our corneal service. This combined role has enabled excellent management of paediatric external eye disease while maintaining and developing the adult corneal service.

As the role, and our department, continues to develop we aim to refine the provision of urgent eye care so that patients are streamed to sub-speciality experts at their first appointment.

The successful applicant will therefore be expected to deliver acute clinics for our busy eye casualty service as part of their expertise in the management of corneal and external eye disease, and will also require significant experience in the management of paediatric eye conditions to support the paediatric team.

Planned AAC Interview Date is Friday 14 June 2024

• Delivery and development of the Specialist Corneal service, including corneal transplant surgery and anterior segment repair.

• General Ophthalmology responsibilities, including on call and care of inpatients
• Teaching and training of Oxford deanery trainees, junior staff and undergraduates
• Active involvement in Research and Clinical Governance
