Summary
What is the role?
Subsea7 are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Pipeline Group (PG) at our Sutton, London office on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working as part of the digitalisation team supporting the development of digital tools to improve the ways of working of the PG installation engineering department. An area of focus is to explore large datasets of installation data, enabling engineers to gain value from the data, and exploring how to use digital technology to predict trends and highlight themes to measure and to improve ways of working.
Another part of the role is to be responsible for developing and maintaining dashboards for the PG installation engineering team, displaying data from multiple sources within Subsea 7.
PG supports Subsea7’s pipelay projects globally and our analysis engineers play an integral part in finding solutions to complex engineering problems. Our engineers are recognised for their expertise and can oversee specific critical subjects either on business improvement, or projects.
What will your responsibilities involve?
The Data Scientist will undertake a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities, however some of the expected key responsibilities however will be:
Explore data collected by digitalisation tools, identify data applications and support the PG installation engineering team to gain value from the data.
Explore new methods to support the development of tools using data science
Use data science to deliver projects and tasks more efficiently
Improve ways of working in order to increase efficiency within the business
Perform knowledge sharing and to become part of the digital community within PG installation engineering and to the wider Subsea7 company
Support the promotion of digitalisation activities to the PG installation engineering team
Keep up to date with the industry and identify any applicable digital opportunities for PG Installation Engineering and Subsea7

Relevant qualification in Data Science or Data Analytics
Relevant experience in a Data Science or Data Analysis role
Programming experience with Python
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerBI skills
Experience of building and maintaining reports and analytics
A passionate problem solver, driven to find innovative solutions to challenges using digital techniques and software’s such as Python, Azure DveOps, GIT, etc.
Able to demonstrate critical thinking and a positive approach to work
A good level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively establish relationships and communicate across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external, up to the highest levels.
