An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Medicine Business Unit 1 at the Royal Derby Hospital for a Pathway Co-ordinator as part of the Neurology Medical Secretary Team.

The post holder will be required to provide an efficient secretarial service to the consultants and their team in respect of NHS work. They will need to work flexibly with or alongside medical secretarial staff, consultants and other teams when required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication & problem-solving skills. You will require high levels of tact and diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively to enable day to day management. You will be working alongside a number of consultants and various other clinical staff.
• You will act as the main point of contact for patients and medical staff on behalf of the consultant and team ensuring that all queries are answered with skill and sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner
• Efficient management of Consultant diary
• Typing and dispatch of clinical correspondence within agreed timescales and quality standards
• Ensure urgent test results/correspondence is brought to the immediate attention of the Consultant or team
• An understanding of 18-week RTT process
• Support management in the preparation and validation of waiting lists and performance data in team leader's absence
• Liaise effectively with wards, departments and other clinical staff within the hospital and external healthcare providers
• Providing secretarial support/cover for colleagues during absence

All training required will be provided on appointment.
