An exciting opportunity has arisen within Maternity & Gynaecology business unit at the Royal Derby Hospital for 22.5 hours per week.

The post holder will be required work flexibly with or alongside medical secretary staff, consultants or other members of the team when required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication & problem solving skills to join our friendly and hardworking team.


• You will act as the point of contact for patients and medical staff on behalf of the consultant and
his/her team ensuring that all queries are resolved with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and
professional manner.
• You will be expected to produce clinical letters from digital dictation and follow up on actions from letters, responsible for the monitoring / selection of future waiting list patients, whilst working to strict Trust and Government policies and Waiting list management and 18 weeks.
• You will need to be able to accurately informing patients/clinicians of outcomes and information to influence the effective service delivery for all patients, input patient information onto the various IT systems and communicate with patients to arrange appointment dates in accordance with the Trust’s Booking Policy.
• You will be responsible for the regular case note maintenance and accurate filing., liaise effectively with wards and departments within the hospital and be confident in escalating any urgent problems to a senior manager.
