An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated forward thinking individual to work as a Sister/Charge Nurse on ward 2 at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.

The Ward has 14 beds, and cares for patients who are thought to be approaching the End of their life or believed to be in the last days of life. We offer individualised End of Life Care including symptom control and support those important to our patients in a calm and tranquil environment.

We are looking for individuals who have demonstrable experience of leading and contributing to the development of an inpatient team or individuals who feel ready to develop into a new role and would like the opportunity to learn within a supportive, dynamic and forward thinking team. we are looking for individuals committed to delivering high standards of holistic care and have a caring and empathetic attitude. The individual must be a positive role model to the junior staff and be able to demonstrate their ability to have advanced communication skills.

The successful applicant will be required to work long days and night shifts as there is an expectation for senior staff to work all shifts.

• To support the Senior sister in the day to day management of the unit and to ensure the delivery of patient centred, clinically effective holistic care is provided in a safe and caring environment.
• Working with the MDT on the unit to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and to enhance patient flow so the correct patients are brought in to the unit
• Support the Senior Sister with managerial duties such as audits, staff appraisals, clinical governance, rota management and dealing with complaints and concerns.
• Act as a role model at all times, support the ward staff and give expert clinical knowledge
