Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated leader who wants to develop in their career. You will work alongside the existing team ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

The successful individual will provide effective and visible leadership on our 23 bed complex discharge Ward . Ward 5 provides additional care to those who are awaiting a more complex discharge plan but no longer are in need of an acute ward. The team accept patients to the ward which is based on the community site of Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.

Applicants must hold a current NMC registration, and have demonstrable post registration experience with Band 6 experience in a leadership role and acute nursing. The applicant must be able to demonstrate their leadership experience.

The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, be dynamic and strive for excellence in all aspects of the role. They also need to demonstrate that they are supportive and are able to manage the daily challenges of being a departmental manager. They will need to act as a role model and maintain and uphold high standards of professional behaviour.

The successful applicant will take overall nursing responsibility for the day to day management of the department and environment. They will ensure that high standards of nursing care is provided and drive forward both service development and quality improvement . They will also be ensuring we promote patient safety and a positive patient experience.

This role is importantly also about being an exemplary role model for the Nursing Team and steering their development and support.

Ward 5 gives 24/7 care meaning that staff are expected to work varying shift patterns throughout the week.
