An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sonographer within the Radiology Department at Victoria Hospital, Wimborne. This is a temporary post of up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. We are a small, but highly motivated and friendly team who are enthusiastic about providing a first class quality service to our patient cohort.

The post holder will be expected to be flexible to the needs of the service and be able to work autonomously. Hours and days of work are negotiable. The range of scans required to be performed by the sonographer includes; Abdominal, Renal, Gynae. We do not perform Obstetric ultrasound scans within the community setting and therefore this is not a pre requisite for this post.

Victoria Hospital and Swanage Radiology departments are very proud of their excellent UKAS accreditation record and the post holder will be expected to assist senior staff in ensuring that all standards applicable to UKAS are maintained.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.

Provision of a high quality ultrasound service to the local population.

Supervision of HCA staff.

Responsible for managing own workload.

Organising ultrasound sessions and ensuring that waiting times are maintained within KPI's.
