We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic, newly registered/ soon to be registered Pharmacy Technicians. One post is available to work across Dorset Healthcare as Foundation Pharmacy Technicians.

This post will allow you to build on the knowledge and skills you already gained from your first 2 years initial education and training for pharmacy technicians and further your professional development. Part of your role will be your work in a Community Hospitals enabling our Pharmacy Technician workforce to support the new systemwide Virtual wards and you will also have the opportunity to develop your foundation practice across the variety of pharmacy services provided by Dorset HealthCare.

You will undertake a learning pathway in a structured Foundation Programme which is designed to enable newly qualified pharmacy technicians to demonstrate competencies and learning outcomes. On completion of set competencies, you will progress to a band 5 post.

You will need to be already accredited in medicines optimisation/ reconciliation and accuracy checking which you may have undertaken either as part of your initial entry qualification or separately via an approved national qualification.

Your role will focus on medicines optimisations within community services but you may also have the opportunity to work in mental health units and the Trust Dispensary. You will develop your skills to provide pharmacy services across Dorset to:

Community Hospitals (inpatient and outpatient units)

Mental Health Services (inpatient and outpatient units)

Dispensary services

Community Hubs/ teams and Community Services

Patients in their homes
