The main key duties for the role will be;

* Communicate with an extensive range of people on day to day operational matters.

* To ensure delivery of a robust and welcoming outpatient clinical reception.

* Provide administrative services to the medical staff, ward sister, senior nurse and nursing staff to ensure the smooth running of the ward.

* To assist in providing consultant medical staff with an excellent and problem free inpatient service in order to maintain and increase existing business and encourage new business.

* To act in an exemplary manner at all times in adherence to the Trust People to People expectations. General Responsibilities.

* Act as the focal point for all enquiries in the Private Patients ward and liaise with the senior nurse and senior midwife on a daily basis to ensure the effective running of the service and arrange outpatient appointments as directed by the nursing staff.

* Report maintenance issues to the estates and hotel services departments.

* Deal with all enquiries as appropriate from private patients and their relatives in a courteous, sensitive and diplomatic manner and pass on accurate and discreet messages as required.

* Take a proactive approach when dealing with customers, patients and staff adhering to the code for people to people expectations at all times.

· To welcome patients, consultant medical staff, and visitors to the department and ward area.

· Assist and direct patients to the various departments in the Lindo Wing.

· Answer all range of enquiries either face to face or via the telephone.

· To be proactive member of the ward/team in providing administrative and clerical support to underpin activity, maintaining Trust policies and procedures.
