We are looking for a Scrum Master to join us in a key role to ensure the successful delivery of software products to both staff and students. This is a great opportunity to help shape positive change and support Agile adoption.
The purpose of the Scrum Master is to:
Manage the successful delivery of high-quality products and services to meet user needs.
Identify impediments, help the team to overcome them and encourage continuous improvement of the delivery teams.
Act as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of delivery and clearly communicate progress with senior stakeholders.
The main responsibilities will include:
Leading cross-functional Agile delivery teams, bringing a pragmatic approach to all stages of delivery, ensuring teams are working effectively and collaboratively whilst continually delivering business critical projects..
Co-ordinate agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives and reviews) and coach the team(s) to continually improve their agile practices.
Plan and lead multiple squads at any one time, measuring and reporting on delivered outcomes, progress, and risks.
Act as an advocate for continual improvement, review ways of working and help teams to adopt improvements where identified.
Manage internal and external dependencies, escalate blockers or impediments that affect plans and manage risks.
Work closely with Product Owners and SME’s to prioritise the product backlog and make key project/product decisions.
Experience required:
Successful delivery of software products within agile environments and ensuring products deliver on their outcomes and objectives.
Leading agile, cross functional teams and of coaching teams to continually improve.
Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organisation and a deep understanding of facilitation techniques.
Demonstrated experience in managing “upward” among senior leadership and the ability to sell the project and/or product.
Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
