The relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply.

Cheshire and Wirral are looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to work on Cherry ward in Bowmere Hospital and provide up to 1 session of support to the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team for those patients over 65yrs of age and not known to secondary mental health services

The duration of the work is 0.6 WTE. Post is divided into 5 sessions of DCC and 1 session of SPA. Days of the duties and the SPA session is decided in discussion with the appointed consultant.

The consultant will participate in the Consultant Psychiatrist on-call rota.
• The appointed consultant will be expected to provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the MDT and to contribute to Multi-Disciplinary and Multi-Agency team working arrangements within the service.
• The appointed consultant along with the MDT, will be responsible for the assessment and management of inpatients, provide treatment formulation and guidance on evidence based treatment and effectiveness.
• The appointed consultant is expected to hold approved clinician status and work as a responsible clinician to inpatients. They will also be responsible for mental health act work like completing the reports and attending the tribunals.
• The appointed consultant is expected to work flexibly with colleagues to ensure high standards of care is delivered to the patient and also with external agencies to ensure the patient is appropriately placed on discharge.
• The appointed consultant is expected to provide occasional clinical support, including outpatient review, for older adults under the care of the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team who are not known to secondary mental health services. In practice this is not a large number of patients.
• The post holder will need to comply with all Trust policies and procedures. The post holder is additionally expected to be aware of the standards of the care expected and five year forward plan of the trust.
• The post holder is expected to organise the cross cover when he/she applies for annual leave and study leave.
