Cheshire and Merseyside Adolescent Eating Disorder Service (CHEDS) is a regional outpatient/inpatient service offering evidenced based treatment approaches to 13 - 18 year olds who present with an eating disorder, and their families / carers. The Service has strong links with Ancora House, and the trust has close research links with the University of Liverpool. The service also works very closely with locality eating disorder community teams within Cheshire and Merseyside. We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary team, which includes two existing Clinical Psychologists. The successful candidate will participate in the delivery of specialist outpatient and inpatient interventions to improve the health outcomes for young people who present with eating disorders. The post is full time but we would be open to considering part time hours.

We offer an excellent preceptorship, with the opportunity to develop skills within a specialist setting and to be part of the development of an evidenced based service. There is a strong commitment to professional development through Appraisal and the provision of individual supervision. Applicants should possess a Post-graduate/ doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology. We would consider experienced candidates or those approaching the end of clinical training. We will consider candidate approaching the end of their clinical psychology training and seeking a development role. Band 7, rising to Band 8a after successful completion of the developmental role. There are opportunities to be involved in service development e.g. day service. We offer a range of group work, involving Parent Group, Multi Family Therapy Group, RO-DBT, Body Image and DBT-coping skills. We provide consultation to the eating disorder community teams and other services on a regular basis. In CHEDS there is lots of opportunity to work with complex cases and co morbidities. There are lots of great opportunities to develop your CPD as this is highly valued and supported within the service along with further specialist training.
