We have a fabulous, and very rare opportunity to join our fantastic Housing Partnership Team (North) at an exciting time when we are growing! This brilliant role would suit you if you have come from a property management background but want to achieve so much more than that! You’ll provide housing management for customers in supported accommodation across several properties: across the Tyne and Wear region. You will be supported to become one of our Housing and Property Gurus! The role is hands on, varied, and often fast paced where no two days are ever the same and the hours can fly by. Support for our customers is always provided by another organisation so you will work in partnership with them to deliver a fantastic housing management service to our customers. You will be the first point of contact for our managing agents and the face of Home Group. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do so it’s vital to us that we give them a home that reflects their needs and is of an excellent standard. Our passion is to ensure that our customers live happily in safe and high-quality housing. This means we involve them and our partners every step of the way. You will be responsible for managing our customers’ rent accounts and dealing with any tenancy issues . You will spend time travelling around the region carrying out property inspections, meeting customers and support providers promoting our commitment to Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE). To us, PIE is everything from great curb appeal, right through to attractive, comfortable, and welcoming environments. To do this you will discuss improvements, decor and replacement furniture with the customers and their support providers. You could also find yourself working alongside our maintenance surveyors assisting with planned works or looking at Occupational Therapy recommended adaptations in our properties. About our team You’ll be part of our amazing Housing Partnership Team. We are all very experienced and will always give you plenty of support and encouragement. We are hybrid workers with the Tyneside Foyer as our base office but often have our anchor day at our Head Office in Newcastle. We are a positive bunch and enjoy meeting up where we like to share good news and experiences over a cup of tea because we often deal with unusual situations. But don’t worry… there’s always someone in the team who’s been there first. Chris is our leader – a keen cyclist and tea enthusiast who has worked at Home Group for 29 years! Ann is our Senior Client Services Manager. She looks after our ‘Blended’ contracts and has 2 mischievous dogs who often attend our outdoor meetups. Ian is our Senior Client Services Manager who covers our ‘Traditional’ contracts, he is a keen coffee aficionado with 2 young daughters. Keith, Shaun, Louis and Aby are our other Housing Management Coordinators (property managers). Keith is our voice of experience having worked in the blend team for over 5 years. Aby works with Ian looking after our traditional managing agents. Louis and Shaun are our latest recruits to the blend team, so will be happy to tell you what a welcoming and supportive bunch we all are. Working hours We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers and we expect you to manage your work life balance, so you can spend time doing the things that matter to you! You’ll be working Monday-Friday and normally work between 9 and 5 but we operate a flexible working policy. About you Sometimes we must instruct and guide our partners, so you need to be great at managing relationships, positive, assertive, and confident in your decision making. It would be amazing if you have worked in a property or housing management type role before. However, if you haven’t, then we will be glad to support someone with transferrable skills and with the right ‘can do’ positive attitude and enthusiasm. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help you to understand how things work at Home Group! You will be equipped with your own phone and surface pro laptop, so we need you to have strong IT skills too. You will be passionate about property and get a thrill out of knowing that your properties are the best they can be for our customers! You thrive on managing your own time, working on your own initiative, have strong written and verbal communication skills and you’re able to positively influence people from all backgrounds! You’ll have a driving licence, car which is insured for business cover as you’ll travel regularly around your properties within Tyne & Wear. Don’t worry we will pay you expenses to cover this use! If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for. What’s in it for you? There’s lots!
