We are delighted to invest further and expand our teams with a new opportunity for a (GME) General Maintenance Employee to join Gentoo’s Property Maintenance team, to work across the City of Sunderland. This new role highlights our dedication to growth and delivering exceptional service to our customers. You will play a key role working closely with a skilled maintenance team to effectively assist and support colleagues in the delivery of a repairs and maintenance service. A full UK driver’s licence is required for this position.
The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide excellent customer service by fostering clear communication and a respectful attitude toward customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Completion of general construction and maintenance labouring duties, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
Assisting bricklaying, roofing and any trade colleagues with repairs including but not limited to, gutter unblocking, pointing & window mastics replacements.
Removal of all furniture/rubbish from domestic properties, sites, offices and estates, including dwelling areas, bin stores, outhouses, garages, loft areas and communal areas as required.
Complete damp and mould treatments, mould wash downs & warmer wall applications.
Installation of loft insulation for replacements and top ups.
Removal of debris including damaged walls, spillages, floods etc.
Support team operations by driving, collecting, and delivering materials as required.
What we are looking for:
A full UK driver's license.
Demonstrable experience in all areas of labouring including construction, maintenance and grounds maintenance works.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations.
A flexible approach to meet the demands of the role.
The ability to work at height and in external environments.
Competence in the use of handheld IT systems.
Openness for continual learning and developing skills in order to carry out duties and responsibilities.
