We are currently recruiting for an Interim Head of Revenues and Benefits-Interim for our Client based in Shefford.
The Interim Head of Revenues must have previous experience of working at senior leadership level as this role is leading a high performing service, overseeing the full scope of statutory Revenues and Benefits functions including Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits, Local Council Tax Support and the Council’s Corporate Fraud Team.
The successful candidate will act as the Council's lead expert on Revenues and Benefits legislation, advising senior leadership and driving performance, compliance and financial stability across a large and complex service.
Requirements of the Interim of Revenues and Benefits:
• A proven track record of working at a senior level within a Revenues & Benefits Service
• A real understanding of how to apply digital tools within services.
• A strong communicator, negotiator and team player whose outcome-focused, tenacious, and always thinking broadly.
• Energy, resilience, and a focus on delivery even when the going gets tough.
• Authenticity- Leading teams with integrity and treating others with respect.
• Significant experience in a Head of Revenues and Benefits role (Head of Service)
• Experience of managing the annual end to end review of a Local Council Tax Support/Reduction scheme
• Developing and managing staff through a period of significant change
• Experience of dealing with elected Councillors, MPs & the Ombudsman
• In depth working knowledge and experience of the relevant legislation
• Basic DBS
Working Hours: 37hours/week
