Make a real difference, close to home
We’re looking for a kind, reliable Community Care Worker to join our friendly and supportive team, delivering high‑quality care to people living in Cullompton and the surrounding rural areas.
This is a full‑time, permanent role working in the community – supporting customers in their own homes to live safely, comfortably and independently. You’ll work independently day‑to‑day, but you’ll never feel alone – our experienced office team is always just a call away.
We plan rotas well in advance on a 4‑week rolling basis, with every other weekend, and we aim to keep you working as close to home as possible to support continuity of care and reduce unnecessary travel.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide compassionate, person‑centred care, including:
Personal care delivered with dignity and respect
Support with meals, nutrition and hydration
Companionship and emotional reassurance
Light household tasks in line with individual care plans
Medication administration (following training and MAR charts)
Manual handling, including hoists
Catheter care (where trained)
Working safely as a lone worker, following risk assessments
Recording care notes accurately using our digital care system
Reporting changes in health or wellbeing and following safeguarding procedures
You’ll complete a paid, structured 3‑day induction, including classroom‑based learning, shadowing experienced carers, and practical preparation to help you feel confident and supported in your role.
About you
You might already have experience in care – but if not, that’s absolutely fine. We provide full training and ongoing support.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Kind, patient and genuinely caring
Reliable, professional and punctual
Confident working independently in the community
Calm, respectful and reassuring in their approach
Responsible and accountable for their work
Flexible and adaptable to meet customers’ needs
Willing to learn, develop skills and follow guidance
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who cares deeply about doing a good job and making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Essential requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Willingness to travel around Cullompton and surrounding rural areas
Availability to work 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota
Right to work in the UK
Willingness to complete mandatory training and an enhanced DBS check
What we offer
Permanent contract with guaranteed hours
Paid induction, training and competency sign‑off
Paid travel time and mileage (HMRC‑aligned)
5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro rata)
Ongoing supervision, support and development
A friendly, professional team that values quality, safety and reliability
