Location: Salford Area (Greater Manchester)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary / Long-Term Placements
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm (Full-Time)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist or mainstream school setting in the Salford area. This is a full-time role with an immediate start.
Role Overview:
As a Complex Needs TA, you will be working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, which may include autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. You will support both their academic progress and personal development within a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
- Assisting with personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
- Supporting communication needs using appropriate methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, visual aids)
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff
- Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/complex needs (essential)
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support to individual pupil needs
- Relevant TA qualification or childcare experience desirable
Pay Rate:
£109.85 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
