**Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity until June 2027**

Working about 5 miles from the historic town of Norwich as a Clinical Scientist in Nuclear Medicine you will work within a friendly team of Medical, Technical, Nursing, Administrative and Scientific staff delivering routine and developing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine to over 1 million people in the Norfolk and Waveney region.

The post holder will be responsible for providing scientific/technical support for routine and developing or novel scientific aspects of nuclear medicine and externally contracted PET/CT service.

The post holder will benefit from a large degree of autonomy in their professional capacity as a qualified Clinical Scientist and Medical Physics Expert where they are expected to manage their own workload but are required to report to the Principle Clinical Scientist in Nuclear Medicine in a line manager capacity.

1. Provide and manage the delivery of highly specialised scientific support to clinical services in the field of Nuclear Medicine physics and associated radiation protection involving a broad range of highly specialised, complex, routine/non-routine scientific work.
2. To fulfil the role of Medical Physics Expert as defined in the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (Statutory Instrument 2017 No. 1322) for specified areas of Nuclear Medicine Physics including PET/CT imaging.
3. Direct involvement in performance and safety testing, quality control of complex Nuclear Medicine equipment.
4. Participate in the delivery of radiation protection to Radiology and other trust divisions where required and contribute to the work delivered by the Trust Radiation Protection Committee.
5. Participate in local audit of the Nuclear Medicine service including in other areas of clinical services for example Breast Imaging as well as within Oncology.
6. Support the introduction of new, improved and optimised methods, techniques and service improvements utilising best available evidence, national guidance, and results from research and development.
7. Provide and assist with the training of Clinical Scientists, Medical Physics technicians, and trainees in the field of Nuclear Medicine Physics.
8. To deputise for the Lead Clinical Scientist where required
