Location: Burton upon Trent (DE13)
Pay Rate: £100 - £125 per day
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Requirement: Full UK driving licence essential

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to join a specialist school in Burton upon Trent. This role involves supporting children and young people aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have faced significant barriers to learning.

You will play a key role in delivering both academic and therapeutic support within a structured and nurturing environment, where consistency, routine, and positive relationships are central to pupil success.

About the Role
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural and additional needs
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to implement personalised learning plans
- Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies

About You
- Patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting young people with additional needs
- Experience working with pupils across primary and/or secondary settings
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Calm and resilient, with a proactive approach to challenges
- Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve both academically and personally
- Willing to contribute to the wider school community
- Available to attend a pre-interview meeting via Microsoft Teams
