What skills and experience we're looking for

At New Wave we are passionate about reading and every child to flourish and view themselves as a reader. The current priorities of the English Hub programme include: developing language acquisition, reading, fluency and building an intrinsic enjoyment in reading ensuring inclusivity and sustained outcomes.

We are heading into our ninth year as an English Hub providing regional support in North London, Peterborough and areas in Hertforshire, Cambridgeshire and the Fenlands, in Early Years, Primary and Secondary settings. We are a successful team driven by a commitment to improve reading outcomes, share good practice and having a positive impact on children’s life chances beyond our schools. This is an exciting time to consider joining our team of experienced and knowledgeable Literacy Specialists as the programme remit is expanding to deliver well informed levels of support with senior leaders across KS2 and KS3.

We are looking for a solution focused Literacy Specialist with experience of leading English, Literacy, Reading or similar across their school or trust. The role will involve working in an articulate and compassionate manner with headteachers, and staff to ensure the highest quality in teaching, assessments and interventions.
