This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Purchase Ledger Clerk and play an active role in the culture of ongoing improvement, we’re proud to be building.

In this position, you’ll be a key member of the transactions team, responsible for processing all invoices received through our procurement system. You’ll ensure they meet Agency guidance and are completed within government KPI targets. You’ll also maintain accurate exchange rates within our finance systems and make sure the Agency’s travel data is posted promptly.

As a vital link to colleagues across our UK and overseas offices, you’ll engage with them daily, in person and online, to support a wide range of finance‑related queries. The role requires confidence in managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment, as well as the ability to challenge appropriately, with support from your team, to ensure processes are followed correctly and fairly.

Your main duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Processing of invoices via agencies procurement system
  • Generating Purchase Orders ensuring information is accurate
  • Liaising with suppliers and setting up Purchase Ledger Accounts
  • Updating exchange rates on agencies finance systems
  • Processing of travel data in a timely manner
  • Chasing invoice approvals and hitting the Prompt Payment Target
  • Monitor the shared mailbox answering queries with attention to detail
  • Assisting with iPos Administration
  • Running disbursement manager
  • Assisting with the monitoring of the Purchase Ledger
  • Assist with process improvements
  • Reporting discrepancies, mistakes, or potential fraud to senior management
  • Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion
  • Various reporting and analysis requests from within VCA.
