Location: Felixstowe, Suffolk (IP11). Easily commutable from Ipswich, Woodbridge, Colchester, Kesgrave, and surrounding areas.

Salary: MPR (FTE £32,916 - £45,352 / Actual £19,749 - £27,211 per annum) plus SEN allowance (£2,787 per annum)
Start date: 1 September 2026

Are you a qualified SEN Teacher specialising in autism, looking for a part‑time teaching role in Suffolk?
Our small Primary Academy in Felixstowe is seeking a passionate Specialist SEN Teacher (0.6 FTE) to support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) within a nurturing, inclusive primary setting. This is a permanent teaching position, offering flexible part‑time hours, competitive MPR pay, and a dedicated SEN allowance. This role is ideal for a teacher with experience in supporting autistic children and learners with additional developmental or learning needs, particularly within EYFS and KS1.

The provision supports young children aged 4 - 7 with a wide range of needs, including those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Pupils benefit from a tailored, inclusive, and nurturing environment that enables them to thrive within their local community. You will work closely with a supportive team of Specialist SEN Teachers and wider professionals to deliver a bespoke curriculum that promotes independence, communication, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful progress.







The Role:

As a Specialist SEN Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver tailored learning programmes for pupils with Autism (ASC)
- Create structured, engaging lessons aligned with EHCP targets
- Use evidence‑based SEN strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and learning
- Work collaboratively with SEND staff, therapists, and parents/carers
- Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment



We're keen to hear from teachers who have:
- ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / PGCE)
- ✅ Proven experience teaching pupils with Autism or additional needs
- ✅ Strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs, and inclusive practice
- ✅ A positive, patient, and child‑centred approach
- ✅ Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
