Torus are seeking a Neighbourhood Officer to play a key role in delivering high‑quality housing management services across our
communities. As a Neighbourhood Housing Officer, you will manage a defined patch of homes and act as a central point of contact
for customers, delivering all aspects of the tenant and landlord relationship. Working as an ambassador for Torus, you will build
positive relationships with residents, colleagues and external partners to ensure neighbourhoods are clean, safe and well managed,
while meeting performance targets and supporting Torus’s corporate objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Manage a defined property portfolio, delivering effective tenancy and estate management and providing clear advice to tenants
and residents.
* Undertake core tenancy management activities, including abandoned properties, unauthorised occupation, tenancy fraud, access
issues, and changes in household circumstances.
* Carry out a range of visits such as viewings, tenancy audits, inspections, new tenancy visits, starter tenancy reviews and
attending evictions where required.
* Use neighbourhood and performance data to identify risk, target resources effectively and protect demand and costs.
* Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and insurance obligations relating to the property portfolio.
* Proactively manage anti‑social behaviour, hate crime and other tenancy breaches, including triaging cases and taking
enforcement action where appropriate.
* Manage a caseload focused on tenancy sustainment, assessing needs, reducing risk, maximising income and promoting independent
living.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including Income, Safer Estates, Assets, Development and
support agencies, escalating cases where necessary.
* Take a proactive approach to neighbourhood management, addressing issues affecting demand, costs and appearance, and supporting
estate‑based improvements and consultation.
* Promote resident engagement and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective case management, communication
and ongoing professional development.
What We’re Looking For:
* CIH Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
* Experience in housing management or in delivering services to clients.
* Strong knowledge of housing legislation and a willingness to stay up to date with developments.
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to challenge non-compliance where necessary.
* Experience of managing ASB and nuisance cases.
* A professional, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work at pace.
* Full UK Drivers Licence
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview. Interviews will w/c 11th May 2026
